The Town Center area in downtown Virginia Beach has transformed into an urban business and entertainment hub over the last several years. IONIC helped contribute to this transformation by updating what was once a fast casual chain restaurant into a series of unique and modern retail spaces. Developing a speculative retail center presented challenges that limited the project scope and our control over certain sustainable features. Our limited knowledge of how the interior space would take shape and the specific mechanical needs of each future prospective tenant restricted our team’s design approach.
Ionic DeZigns focused on creating and developing the exterior and updating the project site. Our design team incorporated a variety of patterns, colors and materials to give the building character and a fresh, urban look. This approach ensured future tenants would have the opportunity to obtain LEED certification. The facelift to these buildings improved the area’s visual appeal and helped attract additional businesses to the already growing Town Center area.
