This client came to us with a story telling more than 100 years of history of emerging ingenuity, triumph, failure, and rebirth. As a team, we took this story and developed a design that spoke to the past and looked to the future of the Indian Motorcycle brand. IONIC was charged with the task of designing a functional showroom, service center, office spaces and conference spaces that would reflect the heart of the Indian brand. The store’s narrow site with little street frontage posed a challenge. The project also had an extremely short timeframe for design and construction, as well as a tight budget and high energy efficiency requirements. IONIC’s design team encouraged the client to be hands on and present through the entire project. Early in the design process, the client brought in WM Jordan as the General Contractor. We were able to quickly develop a strong working relationship and construction team to help create a well-rounded design. Every design decision was made with the knowledge of how it would affect the budget, constructability and timeframe of construction.

Despite the challenges and hurdles, we were able to quickly mitigate potential issues and resolve any discrepancies because of the team’s strong working relationship and mutual confidence. The result was a beautiful building that stands true to its inspiration, was designed within budget and was delivered within the truncated time frame.
